About Footloose Farm:

Footloose Farm is a fairly new facility and we would not be where we are today without the help of an amazing God. We began construction in 2012, and since then it has come such a long way! Footloose Farm is home to several different breeds, one of which is called the Gypsy Vanner.

About the "Gypsy Vanner":

Coloured Cob, Gypsy Cob, Tinker, Irish Cob, and various other names are used to describe the Gypsy breed. However, the American term used is "Gypsy Vanners". The Gypsy Vanner is a strong draft breed. They are not known merely for their beauty, but also their bronze. This breed originated by the hard work of the Romani people that bred for not only beauty but solid bodies that could pull their vardoes (Romani wagons), in which they lived. However, the first "Gypsy Vanner" did not reach the US until a businessman named Dennis brought the first stallion, Cushti Bok, over from the U.K. in 1996. He then began the first known Gypsy registry in the world, the Gypsy Vanner Horse Society. From there, many registries have been formed, which all strive for the "proper cob" conformation of "apple butts" and solid bodies with thick manes and tails and long straight and silky feather.

Footloose Farm Gypsy Horses:

Footloose Farm is a family owned facility made up of 150 acres. Our family has owned horses for nearly 15 years. Our family met a breed in 2012 that made us fall in love with our hobby all over again. Our lives were changed when we met two black and white fuzzy weanling colts named Valentino and Milo. Now, they have grown into beautiful stallions that have definitely out produced themselves. Our Gypsy herd has expanded tremendously since then. One of our owners, Nikki Milligan, will be graduating UGA College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2018. Our facility is also expanding to include a reproductive laboratory and breeding shed. Footloose Farm strives to further educate people about this amazing breed and offer quality foals that can be used in every discipline within the equestrian world. We do not believe in quanitity, but quality. We are open to visitors if you call ahead and make an appointment. You can come and meet the Gypsy Vanners for yourself and you will quickly see why we love this extraordinary breed so much!
